Our Work

Term one

The first stage of our project has been completed. Students have worked with Artist in Residence Gillian Diggins to create animation puppets and palimpsest backgrounds to build their animation stories on.

Our Printmaking Workshops
(end of term two)

Our level 3 Intensive English School students celebrated the end of term 2 by walking up to Logan Art Gallery and working with our artist in Residence (Nancy Brown) to create some fantastic screen printed t-shirts to be worn on the opening night or our My Arrival exhibition in October.

Check out our blog for more photos of this great workshop

Term two

In the next stage, students will be working on their stop motion animations through the processes that Artist in Residence, Tara Flynn has prepared for their educators to deliver. Then they will work with Artist in Residence, Nancy Brown to create prints and books of their stories. They began by making Thaumatropes to put into the Small Children's section of the exhibition. We have looked at our arrival stories and created our thaumatropes based on what we found to be different in Australia to the country we left. If you would like to find out more about Thaumatropes, scan this QR code for instructions. If you don't already have a QR code reader, there are many free ones available online. I have used this one to create and scan my QR codes. You can find out more about QR codes here (we will be using them in our exhibition).
