Our three weeks of printmaking workshops with Nancy
This term we have had the honour of spending three weeks with our Artist in Residence, Nancy Brown. We have created drawings and prints that illustrate our arrival story, screen-printed the covers of our books and marbled the front and back cover inserts of the books. We have had a fun-filled, creative and busy three weeks and the works created during the workshops are excellent. It is getting very close to the opening of our exhibition on Friday, the 19th October at 6 pm.
Finishing off the term with workshop wonders
We are ending term 2 with some amazing workshops at the Logan Art Gallery with one of our Artist in Residence - Nancy Brown.
Level 3 students are walking up to the gallery where Nancy shows students how to design and create images that show aspects of their arrival stories. These images are then put together and using photo-sensitive screen-printing emulsion, Nancy transfers the images created by the students onto a printing screen. The students then get to print their collaborative artworks on their t-shirts, ready to wear on opening night.
The iPads are here!
We have been working on our storyboards for our animation for the past few weeks so that when the iPads arrived, we will be ready to film. They are finally here and we are so excited to be able to begin our animations. The stories are only in the beginning phases but the groups are working well together and once filming starts, I'm confident that the animations will be spectacular!
